HOW IT WORKS

Adopt A Cop BJJ connects eligible law enforcement officers with Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu academies across the country to help make consistent, high-quality training more accessible.

Through our network of affiliate academies, officers may have the opportunity to receive free or reduced-cost Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu training while participating in the Adopt A Cop BJJ program.

MORE THAN A SPONSORSHIP PROGRAM

Adopt A Cop BJJ is currently undergoing an exciting new chapter.

Under new leadership, we are actively reworking and expanding the program with one goal in mind: to become a greater resource for both the officers we support and the academies that support them.

Providing access to training will always remain at the heart of our mission, but we believe our responsibility can go further.

We want Adopt A Cop BJJ to become a resource for:

Officers seeking consistent Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu training and professional development.
Academies interested in supporting law enforcement within their communities.
Departments looking for additional training opportunities and resources for their officers.
Instructors who want to better understand the unique training needs of law enforcement.
The broader Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and law enforcement communities working together to improve training, preparedness, and relationships.

FOR OFFICERS

Officers interested in participating in the program should first search our directory of Adopt A Cop BJJ Affiliate Academies to determine whether a participating gym is located in their area.

Depending on the academy and current availability, participating officers may have access to a fully sponsored membership or a reduced membership rate supported by Adopt A Cop BJJ.

Participation in the program requires officers to train consistently and remain actively engaged with the program. Specific attendance, reimbursement, enrollment, and participation requirements are provided during the application and onboarding process.

Because Adopt A Cop BJJ is a donation-funded nonprofit organization, the number of sponsored positions available at any given time may depend on funding, participating academies, and program capacity.

FOR AFFILIATE ACADEMIES

Our affiliate gyms are the backbone of Adopt A Cop BJJ.

Participating academies help us provide officers with access to consistent Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu training while creating stronger connections between law enforcement and the communities they serve.

Gyms interested in joining the program can submit an application through our Become an Affiliate Gym page.

As the program continues to evolve, we are also working to provide our affiliate academies with additional resources, support, exposure, and opportunities to be more involved in the Adopt A Cop BJJ community.

PROGRAM UPDATES

We are currently reviewing and improving several aspects of the Adopt A Cop BJJ program, including officer enrollment, sponsorships, reimbursements, affiliate gym support, participation requirements, and additional resources we can provide to our community.

Our goal is to build a program that is sustainable, accountable, easy to navigate, and valuable to everyone involved.

As these improvements are implemented, some program requirements and processes may change.
